MD, PhD

Specialist in cardiology, Prof. for translational Cardiology at the Institute of Molecular Medicine at the University of South Denmark (Odense)

Strong scientific interest in the field of cardiovascular medicine, focused on mechanisms of inflammatory processes and extracellular matrix formation after myocardial infarction, as well as cardiovascular regenerative and reconstruction therapies. Using broad experimental and clinical approaches, as well as wide interdisciplinary connections, her team aims to find and develop new therapeutical strategies for prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases.

She has an extensive expertise in mice models of cardiovascular diseases (over 110 publications), as native or accelerated atherosclerosis, myocardial infarction, ischemia/reperfusion injury, functional analysis of heart function by echocardiography, intraventricular pressure measurements, Langendorff perfusion, immunohistochemistry analysis, or broad spectrum of molecular methods. Our cooperation extends from Europe (Denmark, Germany, Netherlands, Romania, Great Britain) to Asia (Singapore, South Korea) and America (USA, Mexico).
